July 2006 - SCDC and TKA have arrived at an agreement.

SCDC has entered into an agreement with TKA Tallent that according to SCDC means that TKA will not make a statutory noise nuisance during the night from May 2007. This is 10 months away. Night seems to be defined as between 11pm at 7am. Consequently SCDC have removed the Noise Abatement Notice. No limitations or agreements on noise outside these hours have been made (This includes weekend and Bank Holidays)

TKA Tallent Chassis Ltd.- Noise Nuisance

A considerable number of people have complained over a number of years about the noise coming from the works of TKA Tallent Chassis Ltd located at Bourn Airport. Whilst the company has done some work to mitigate their influence on our well being it is becoming apparent that it is not enough. Consequently, a small number of local residents are forming a group to spearhead a campaign to limit the impact of this intrusion on our rural community. If you would like to be kept informed of its progress or would like to have some input into it's running then please, in the first instance, contact Chris Corcoran via email. Extract from the latest Parish Council meeting October 2008 · 417.3 TKA - The chairman reported that he had a call this evening from Catriona Dunnett (legal officer at SCDC). There has been a change of responsible personnel at TKA for the complaints, now Stephen McCrystal is taking responsibility for noise issues. It is hoped that Catriona Dunnett and Brian Heffernan (Environmental Health) will attend a future Parish Council meeting, the but she admitted she had done nothing substantial Parish Councils formal complaint, the clerk will suggest October 16th or November 20th following the possible planning meeting to avoid time constraints for the main meeting.
